About GIDAS

GIDAS is one of the most intensive researching projects for road traffic accident studies worldwide. Real traffic accidents are documented, reconstructed and simulated with different variables. By proper analysis the legislator can closely monitor the road traffic situation and can detect positive and negative trends. The automotive industry has the chance to improve their technology and secure the traffic for all participants.

GIDAS is a cooperative project between the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) and the German Association for Research in Automobile Technology (FAT).
