GIDAS is a cooperative project between the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) and the German Association for Research in Automobile Technology (FAT).

The GIDAS Management Report Group consists of representatives of the BASt, the FAT working group 3. The FAT is represented by the following companies: BMW AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, Continental Automotive GmbH, Mercedes-Benz AG and Audi AG.

The contractors in the GIDAS project are:

• Verkehrsunfallforschung an der TU Dresden GmbH (VUFO) at the investigation site Dresden (since July 1999)
• Unfallforschung der Medizinischen Hochschule Hannover at the investigation site Hannover (July 1999 until December 2019; since July 2023)
• Working group consisting of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Hochschule München (HM) and LMU Klinikum at the investigation site near Munich (since July 2023)
